Visa & Insurance

Travel Insurance

All teams and groups coming for a trek with Himalayan Adventures need a travel insurance covering the stay in India. In the case of any accident or medical issue, the insurance should cover all expenses for hospital treatment, medication, transport etc. Himalayan Adventures do not accept any financial responsibility for personal injuries, accidents or loss of personal equipment during the team’s stay in Kumaon Himalayas. The insurance policy should include a fly home clause in the event of any emergencies.

Team leaders need to make 2 copies of the team's insurance policies including policy numbers, emergency contact number of Insurance company and contact number for the team members' parents/legal guardians.

Before leaving on the trek each team member will have to sign a legal waiver releasing Himalayan Adventures of all legal liability in relation to the trek in Kumaon Himalayas.

Visa documents

Please read the visa information below before you start the visa process. The 'e-Tourist Visa info' document is valid for people of all nationalities applying for a visa to India. The document 'Indian Visa Info (Norway)' is only meant for foreigners applying for a regular Tourist Visa (minimum 6 months) to India from Norway.

Visa to India

The last couple of years there's been a great change in applying for visa to India. You can now apply for an e-Tourist Visa (e-TV) online. Recently the e-TV was made into 3 different duration categories:

30-day, 1-year and 5-year. The 30-day visa is valid for dual entry while the long-term visas are multiple entry. In case of tourist visas each trip should not exceed 90 days.

This is great news for student groups traveling to India on a study trip. For detailed instructions about e-TV and other visa related info, please download the appropriate visa document below. For more general information about visa to India, please refer to the visa section in the Guidelines document.
